On april 25, 2023, a conference - "Conference of Innovative Education: Fostering Sustainable Digital Innovation in Schools" was held at Tallinn University within the framework of the "Horizon 2020" project "Accelerating Digital Innovation in Schools through Regional Innovation Hubs and Mentoring Model" (IHUB4Schools).
US Ambassador Kelly Degnan, Rector of BSU Merab Khalvashi, the Minister of Agriculture of the Autoonomous Republic of Ajara Zaza Shavadze and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports Maia Khajishvili opened an agricultural extension center on the basis of the vocational program management and continuous education center of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The purpose of the establishment of the center is to support the agricultural sectors, to strengthen the role and participation of the university in providing agricultural extension to the society through the development and implementation of researches carried out on the bases of BSU academic staff and research centers into various extension programs.
The first mid-term evaluation was conducted at the Center for Management of Vocational Programs and Continuing Education of Batumi Shota Rutaveli State University. Representatives of BSU partner organizations and potential employers participated in the assessment of students of the vocational educational program "Financial Services".
On February 9-10, 2023, within the framework of the EU„Erasmus+“ project DITECH (Developing and Implementing Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning at Georgian HEIs), the second, 6-hour training of faculty members – The Use of Educational Technologies and Platforms in the Teaching/Learning Process was held for the representatives of the academic staff and invited teachers of BSU. The training was led by Elza Jintcharadze, assistant professor at the faculty of Exact Science and Education. Participants were introduced to innovative technology-enriched learning strategies and tools for creating educational videos and a digital learning environment. The participants showed great interest in the digital tools discussed at the training and were actively involved in practical work.
As educators embrace technology, many useful resources have been created that can be used by all interested educators. In order to study the mentioned resources in depth, on November 6, 2022, within the framework of the project „ iHubs4Schools - Accelerating Digital Innovation in Schools through Regional Innovation Hubs and a Whole-School Mentoring Model“ , another training on digital educational tools/ online support tools for teachers was conducted by Dologni public school teacher Guladi Fartenadze and mentor Mikheil Donadze for the teachers of the pilot schools involved in the project. At the training together with the theoretical material, the teachers performed practical tasks.
