Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is the winner of the grant competition for the development of non-formal educational courses announced by the Professional Skills Agency and has obtained the right to implement the non-formal educational course “Continuous Personal and Professional Development Strategies”.
A public lecture by Professor Tamar Gagoshidze on the topic: “Behavior, Stress and Emotion Management Strategies in Civil Society” was held at the Center for Professional Program Management and Continuing Education of BSU. BSU provides incentives for additional activities, and this meeting was held to support the initiative of professional students of the professional education program “Nurturer”. The lecture was held in a question-and-answer mode and issues relevant to society were discussed.
Within the framework of the project “Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Agriculture of Georgia” envisaged by the agreement signed between the Vocational Skills Agency and UNDP, a working meeting was held with teachers of agricultural vocational education at the College “Opizar”. The meeting was attended by Mamuka Gogelia, Manager of the Vocational Programs Management and Continuing Education Center of the Georgian State University, and Lasha Zoidze, a vocational education teacher.
Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi took part in the student festival of vocational schools. The representatives of BSU vocational programs management and continuous education center presented vocational educational programs of the university to the visitors in the exhibition space of the festival. Applicants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the practical side of teaching vocational programs on the spot. The event was aimed at promoting vocational education programs among young people and sharing experiences. The festival was held by the vocational training center of the Batumi State Maritime Academy with the support of the European Union.
Organized by the Center for Management of Vocational Programs and Continuing Education of BSU, a 2-day training was held for vocational education teachers on the topic "Teaching and Assessment in Vocational Education". The training was preceded by a survey of vocational teachers` needs. The first day of the training was devoted to such important issues as: peculiarities of vocational education, pedagogy, importance of motivation and effective communication, etc. The second day was about teaching-learning methods in vocational education. The training was aimed at developing the pedagogical skills of vocational education teachers and improving the quality of the educational process.
