Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted Ilya Shapira, President of the ‘J-Group-Global’ a company in Israel, and Alexander Zogas, expert of research and development. The President and the expert of the ‘J-Group-Global’ held a meeting with the BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi, Deputy Rectors, Directors of the Research Institutes, professors and educators.
Merab Khalvashi, Rector of Batuimi Shota Rustaveli State University and Davit Bakradze, State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic NATO Integration signed the memorandum of agreement. The bilateral MoA envisages Georgia’s integration into the NATO and European Union and raising of awareness among the citizens of Georgia.
Batumi Shota Rustaveli University hosted an initiative group of the YALE alumni, who shared their experience with the BSU students about the values of the US liberal education system. The alumni talked about the career prospects, employment opportunities and university admission requirements in the US.
The US Education Fair at BSU represented various US high educational institutions and programs.
The Yale alumni forum and the information session is the first in Georgia. The event has been organized by the US State Department Network – EducationUSA, by its formal representative in Georgia – International Education Center, US Embassy to Georgia and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University dedicated a week of events to the European Days festival. The opening event, “Europe and Georgia”, a conference of the BSU students of history. The students watched the film “Travelling to Europe”, learn about the terms and conditions of ‘study abroad’ programs and exchange programs.
Faculty of Humanities, BSU gave a performance “Europe Starts from Greece” with a defilee of the antic dress. The students and educators also arranged make-shift corners of France, Germany, UK, Slavic cultures, with the exhibition of national cuisine, dress, and traditional artefacts. The events dedicated to the European Day was organized by the Faculty of Humanities, Department of International Affairs BSU, and “Centre of Information on NATO and European Union”.
Faculty of Tourism at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University sends three students to South-Eastern Norwegian University (USN) within the project framework “Sustainable Tourism: Agrarian Entrepreneurship and Cultural Heritage”. The project was signed by seven partner universities at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
The goal of the project is to launch cooperation in the area of education among Kirgizia, Georgia, Norway and other partner universities. The main area of partnership is sustainable tourism. The cooperation foresees internship of the students and academic personnel. The partner Universities will carry out joint research and educational projects and develop new curricula in the sustainable tourism.
