Deputy Secretary General of NATO Rose Gottemoeller meets the students from western Georgia higher education institutions

Deputy Secretary General of NATO Rose Gottemoeller met the students from western Georgia higher education institutions at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At the meeting, the Deputy Secretary General spoke about the NATO-Georgia relationship, the world security challenges and the mechanisms for dealing with it together with the students and answered some questions from students. At the end of the meeting, Rector of BSU Merab Khalvashi expressed gratitude towards Rose Gottemoeller for the visit and handed a book "Treasure of Adjara" and a map of Georgia with the logo of NATO made by BSU Fablab.

The event was moderated by the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia, Mikheil Darchiashvili.

Rose Gottemoeller is visiting Georgia in the framework of the North Atlantic Council Meeting. The event was organized by the Information Center on NATO and the EU of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and is the launch event of the Center's annual project - NATO Days 2019.

NATO Days in Georgia will be held from October 3 to October 31 and aims at informing Georgian citizens about the mechanisms and perspectives of cooperation between Georgia and NATO.

In the framework of NATO days, about 70 educational and cognitive events will be conducted in Tbilisi as well as in 10 regions of Georgia.
