On November 14-18, the Dean of the Technological Faculty of BSU, prof. Gizo Fartskhaladze visited Minho University within the academic exchange program of "Erasmus+ PEERS". On the first day of the mobility, a meeting was held with the representatives of the International Relations Department of the University of Minho in Braga. Within the framework of the visit Prof. Fartskhaladze conducted lectures on computer modeling and automated systems for designing steel structures. He also gave a presentation on the elastic-plastic area of prestressed structures, column stability and material performance. During the visit, prof. Gizo Fartskhaladze got acquainted with the teaching methodology of the Civil Engineering educational program and the methodology of conducting laboratory works.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is hosting a group of foreign experts from Portugal, Spain, Romania and Israel within the framework of the "Erasmus+" project "Optimization of teaching and academic inclusion using distance teaching and learning" (Love Distance). The aim of the visit is to get to know to the current results of the project as well as agree on future plans with the university administration. The experts met the Rector of BSU, Professor Merab Khalvashi, the academic staff and the students. The members of the expert group also got acquainted with the material and technical base of the university and viewed the laboratory equipped with technologies purchased for recording online courses within the project.

Hungarian Ambassador to Georgia Anna Maria Shiko visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At the meeting with the BSU Rector, professor Merab Khalvashi and Maia Khajishvili, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, the representative of the diplomatic corps spoke about the Memorandum of Understanding on the existing cooperation between two countries and implementation of the joint educational-research projects.

On November 1-6, the students of the bachelor and master programs of the Faculty of Tourism of BSU took part in the "International Hotel Management" internship program held in Berlin.The targeted program planned for the students of the Faculty of Tourism included informational meetings and visits to conceptual hotels (25hours, Henri, Scandic), within the framework of which the hotel representatives introduced the students to the modern standards, trends and challenges of the hospitality industry.The program also included presentations, discussions and familiarization with career development opportunities with the design and events agency "Nok Akt", one of the fastest growing hotel operating companies "HR-Group" and the company that owns hotel complexes "SeetelHotels".

Director of the Center for Commercialization of Scientific Activities of the University of Virginia, University Vice President Richard Nadar conducted a four-day training at BSU. The training covered such topical issues as: research strategic planning framework document, transdisciplinary, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary research, research impact, research portfolio creation (individual and institutional perspectives). Professor Richard Nadar shared with the listeners the experience of American international scientific centers and funding sources, talked about the elements of partnership, priority areas of research and commercialization.
