The representatives of the International Centre of Education introduced Hungarian and French scholarship programmes to the BSU students. The event was attended by Terry Burte, Attache for Scientific and University Cooperation of the French Embassy and Aniko Farkas, the Deputy Mission Head of the Embassy of Hungary. The students were provided with the information about “Stipendium Hungaricum“ the Scholarship Programme of the Hungarian Government which aims at financing the education of 80 Georgian citizens in higher education institutions of Hungary. The financing programme includes monthly scholarship, accommodation and health insurance until the completion of the whole education course. The partners of the programme are: Tempus Public Foundation from Hungarian and International Education Centre from Georgian side.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted an official closing ceremony of a long-term education programme of a Practicing Agronomist implemented in the frame of USAID/REAP project. USAID Deputy Mission Director Thomas Morris and the representatives of the organization met Mr. Merab Khalvashi, the Rector of the University, learnt about the education programmes of the university and visited the labs and clinics opened with the support of the United States Agency for International Development. The participants of the education programme were awarded with the certificates by Mr. Avtandil Meskhidze, the Minister of Agriculture of Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Mr. Merab Khalvashi, the Rector of the University and Mr. Thomas Morris, the USAID Deputy Mission Director.

The representative of the Tourism Commissariat of Wallonia Region in the Kingdom of Belgium Mr. Michel Yanovsky met Professor Tamar Siradze, BSU Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs, Mr. Rostom Beridze, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and the French Language professors.

The delegation of the University of Health Sciences in Istanbul paid a visit to Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The parties defined the priorities of the future cooperation and agreed on implementation of the joint projects. The event was attended by Mr. Merab Khalvashi the Rector of BSU, Mr. Ilia Nakashidze the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. Zaal Mikeladze the Minister of Health and Social Care of Autonomous Republic of Ajara and Mrs. Sopho Bakuridze the Head of NGO “For Each Other”. The Memorandum of Understanding between the high education institutions has been concluded in the frame of the visit. The Memorandum includes the following issues: student engagement in the student exchange programmes, visits of the academic staff and researchers, searching for and finding the grant projects, carrying out joint lectures, symposiums, conferences, planning and implementation of training, academic staff exchange programmes in the directions including medicine, stomatology and short-term exchange programmes.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is participating in “BATUMI BUILD 2017” the 7th International Exhibition of Construction Materials and Technologies held in “Batumi Sheraton” hotel. The 3 day exhibition allows the visitors to observe various structures and replicas of buildings and constructions created by the students in the innovative lab existed on the basis of the Faculty of Technologies of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
