A public lecture and discussion on "Basic Values of the European Union and the Accession Procedure" was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The event was opened by the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Professor Merab Khalvashi. The meeting was organized by the Jean Monnet Department of BSU in collaboration with the English Language Learning Center Eti Holding for public school students. The event was attended by about 40 public school students and teachers. Professor Malkhaz Nakashidze, Head of the Jean Monnet Department, spoke about the core values of the European Union, as well as the procedure for joining the European Union.

Eighty students of the Faculty of Tourism of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University will undergo a three-month internship in high-class hotels in Germany within the framework of the target program "International Internships of Students in German Tourism Industry Organizations" and will get acquainted with the functioning of the main structural unit of the hotel. The international internship is being implemented on the ground of a memorandum signed between the German Baltic College of Schwerin and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and financial programme of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara.

Pierre Clois, Director of the French Institute, met the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Professor Merab Khalvashi, in the framework of "Francophonie 2022". At the meeting, the parties summed up the long-term cooperation, evaluated the implemented and ongoing educational-cultural projects and talked about the importance of participation in the projects of the University Agency of the Francophonie (AUF). It is planned to implement projects together with the Department of European Studies and participate in exchange programs. BSU will also host the Franco-German Week, which starts on May 30 and ends on June 11.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the presentation of the USAID program “Promotion of Rule of Law” at National and Local Levels. The event was opened by USAID Mission Director Peter Wiebler, Vice President of the East-West Management Institute Mark Dietrich, BSU Rector, Professor Merab Khalvashi, representatives of courts, local and international organizations. The program aims to strengthen the rule of law by promoting the independence and efficiency of the justice, ensuring better access to justice for all segments of society, and strengthening citizen and institutional supervision of the above institutions.

A delegation of the Bialystok University of Poland visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Members of the delegation, Professors: Oleg Latishonok, Editor Yaroslav Ivanyuk, Machey Krotofil, Dorota Mikhaluk, Evgenyush Mironovich, Tomas Blaszczak, Malgozzata Viezhkovska met the students and professors of BSU. The guests were welcomed by the Rector of BSU, Professor Merab Khalvashi, and spoke about the long-term cooperation between the two countries and future prospects.
