Faculty of Tourism at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University held VI international scientific practical conference “Tourism, Economics and Buisiness”. The scholars from Germany, Norway, Ukraine, Belorussia, Turkey, Azerbaijan,Lithuania, Kirgizstan, delegates from the tourism industry delivered over 100 papers during the two day’s conference; The conference discussed prospects of the tourism development locally and globally,
The practical part of the conference was held in the picturesque Machakhela gorge, where the participants had an opportunity to visualize the tourism infrastructure and the tourism products. The forum will join forces of the scholars, experts, professionals and the business representatives to raise awareness and popularize the tourism potential of the Machakhela gorge.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University held a event: ‘Month of the German Language’ festival with the slogan – Three Countries – One Language.
Envoys from the Embassies of Germany, Austria, Switzerland discussed the importance of the Georgia-Germany diplomatic relations, and talked on the history the 25th anniversary of these relations. The presenters talked about the Associate Professor at Ilia State University Tamar Tsopurishvili delivered a lecture on the topic: “Ladies in the German Language World”. The event ended with the quiz for the students and the school pupils.

Students of the Natural Sciences and Health Care Faculty at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University had a wonderful opportunity to listen to the public lecture delivered by Professor Barbara Jann on the topic “Development of the Neurorehabilitation Services in the Adjara Region”. Professor Jann discussed the causes of the neurological diseases, statistics, and the people with disabilities. The professor focused on the significance of the neurorehabilitation services and their development and shared her personal experience; Professor Jann also spoke on the methodology of neurorehabilitation and the contemporary research methods.
The lecture was sponsored by the Adjara AR Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University has joined the GYLA (Georgia Young Lawyers Association) initiated project: ‘Books from Georgia to Emigrants’. BSU hosted the charity event of book collecting in the University Hall, where Rector Merab Khalvashi, professors, educators and the students have joined forces around the conceptual line of the project: to collected a gift library for the emigrants. Georgian emigrants in Poland, Turkey, Greece, Ukraine and Italy voiced the desire to build a library as a common area of communication.

The Theatron – a group of young actors at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was one of the students’ troupes participating in the ‘Two Nights in May’, an International Student Theatre Festival, which passed in the city of Elgava, Latvia. A week of excellent performers and superb performances on 25-30th May was full of excitement. The Theatron from BSU invited the spectators to the French piece ‘Family Idyll” (directed by Roin Dvali and Giorgi Pirtskalashvili), a performance, which turned into the most wonderful success story – the troupe from BSU was awarded several of the Festival Prizes.
