
On 19–20 February, the Final Conference of the Erasmus+ grant project “Promoting professional education and students’ engagement through comprehensive mentoring and tutoring system at HEIs (Proment)” was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The aim of the conference was to present the results of the PROMENT project to the wider public, to discuss the prospects for further development and sustainability of the tutoring and mentoring programme implemented at BSU within the framework of the project, and to share the experience gained with higher education institutions operating in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
The conference was conducted in a hybrid format and was attended by representatives of Georgian higher education institutions and the business sector.
The conference was opened by the Rector of BSU, Tite Aroshidze; the Project Manager, Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education, Lela Turmanidze; and the Project Coordinator, Professor Oleh Matviykiv from Lviv Polytechnic National University. The audience was also addressed by consortium members: Nino Dolidze, representative of the Adjara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Tea Murvanidze, representative of the Georgian Technical University.
The conference participants shared their experiences in implementing and operating mentoring and tutoring systems, discussed objectives, tasks, achieved results, practical examples, and key findings. The support of the Adjara Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the mentoring scheme and the prospects for sustainable cooperation were also presented. Participants were actively engaged in discussions.
At the Gala Conference, the following speakers delivered presentations:
Lela Turmanidze – Professor at BSU, Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education, Project Manager;
Tea Murvanidze – Head of the International Relations Office at GTU;
Nino Dolidze – Deputy Chairperson of the Adjara Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
Natia Surmanidze – Export and Investment Relations Specialist at the Adjara Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
Nino Samnidze – Associate Professor at BSU, Head of the Center for Languages and Information Technologies, Project Member;
Nana Mazmishvili – Associate Professor at BSU, Project Member;
Levan Tarieladze – Head of the Department of Student Career Development, Culture and Sport, Project Member;
Nino Devadze – Assistant Professor at BSU, who introduced the results of the Erasmus+ MoVex project and spoke about the possibility of integrating the courses developed within the project into the tutoring and mentoring programme platform;
Nika Partenadze, Janri Beridze – Representatives of the BSU Student Self-Government;
Giorgi Mosidze, Mariam Putkaradze, Grazia Jortmenadze, Diana Kamadadze, Lizi Sharadze – BSU students.
The conference also included practical sessions, during which mentors trained within the project, Nino Samnidze and Eliso Dzneledze, conducted masterclasses for students: “Generating Project Ideas for Tutoring” and “My First Scientific Research.”
At the end of the Gala Conference, participants were awarded certificates and letters of appreciation.
