
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia, Ishizuka Hideki. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for deepening cooperation between the two countries and emphasized the importance of Georgian-Japanese relations in the field of education and science. They discussed the existing relations with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Tokyo Metropolitan University of Technology, as well as plans for future cooperation with other Japanese universities.
As part of the visit, the Embassy of Japan solemnly presented books to the university. About 100 textbooks include important works on the Japanese language, culture and history, as well as on Eastern countries. The literature was placed in the BSU library and will be available to students and academic staff.
At the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador presented the BSU Rector with a certificate from the Nippon Foundation. It is noteworthy that the book donation program is implemented with the financial support of the Tokyo Foundation and the Nippon Foundation.
